The most common obstacle I see as I coach and support others on their health and fitness journey is the doubt of ‘CAN I REALLY DO THIS??’
You work hard, you follow the calendar, you put in the time, effort and energy, but you feel STUCK! Same place on the scale, same look in the mirror! You feel stuck in your journey; in your routine; in your life …. and maybe even stuck in your mind that keeps telling you that maybe you need to accept the fact that mommy jeans is what you need to get used to!
But all this doubting comes from looking for the ‘QUICK’ change in your appearance, AND on the darn scale!! Those two can be so incredibly discouraging and most doubt bringing in our minds!
YOU FEEL THE CHANGE …. but it’s not dramatic. And maybe you see all those around you ‘have more dramatic’ change than you … and you feel frustrated.
I want the instant gratification too! I’ve cried about it numerous times. But if you are so focused on that, you will miss the subtle changes you are experiencing every single day! And change is definitely happening every single day and the only way to really see it is to keep going. I know you thought about quitting!
I know you’ve thought about giving up! I know you just want it to be over already! You just want to feel and look amazing already.
But you’ve gotta listen to your body! Listed for the subtle changes.
Does it feel great after your workout?
Does your mind feel accomplished after it?
Do you feel better about eating healthier and taking care of yourself?
Remember – THIS IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE! It’s a process! Every little bit matters! It’s not about losing 10 lbs and gaining them back in a month because you had a tough things happen and going back to the old habits to make you feel better is the only option! NO! This lifestyle change means that you are changing your old habits and replacing them with new healthy habits that will be so INGRAINED in your consciousness that you are doing them on autopilot – WITHOUT THINKING! This really works!! I know, I’ve done it! I’ve gone through it all! No matter what happens in my life, I am so used to eating in a certain way that is it now natural to buy certain groceries and cook them, and eat them. It’s all about developing the RIGHT HABITS!
The weight loss is just a BY-PRODUCT of living happy, healthy, balanced life and it’s A PROCESS. It takes time and energy and DETERMINATION! You are learning to be disciplined and that will translate in many areas of your life! Learning CONSISTENCY AND DISCIPLINE WILL BRING YOU SO MUCH OVERALL SUCCESS, it will amaze you! Stay strong on your journey!
