I am a 34 year old mother to 3 beautiful boys, Freddy 3 year old, Andrew 2 year old and Alex 10 months old. I began my health and fitness journey about 2 years ago out of desperate need to find myself again. After having Andrew, I was feeling frustrated and depressed about how my body felt and looked. I lacked confidence and it showed in my presence as a mother and wife. I felt like I only existed to serve others and I did the bare minimum lacking drive and desire to be better. I was looking for a way to get in shape and shed those unwanted pounds from pregnancy but going to the gym seemed intimidating and impossible with an infant and toddler.
On February 1, 2014 I saw an infomercial for an at home workout program that guaranteed me flat belly and I felt the life surge through me again. I purchased the program and got connected with my free coach (who later turned out to be my best friend). She added me to her online support and accountability community. I decided that I am done with the excuses and I will do my best to get back in shape. My before pictures alone made me want to hurl, so I used that as a motivation to keep me pushing forward. I started with Hip Hop Abs because I loved dancing and I fell in love with the program. I was so out of shape and it took a while to feel fully comfortable with the workouts, but I enjoyed the daily exercise and looked forward to crossing them off my calendar daily.
But I wasn’t dedicated to my nutrition! And because I was even skipping mills, I didn’t see big results. I was frustrated seeing everyone else in our accountability group see results and I wasn’t. So I decided to do exactly what they were doing: 21 Day Fix Program, which focuses on both exercise and nutrition, and drinking Shakeology daily. And truly, my life changed. I workout daily when my kids napped. On weekends my husband new to take I need to workout, so he would watch the kids.I started every day with Shakeology and ate 5 small meals after that. I lost 20 lbs within the first 3 months of my health and fitness journey and I felt amazing just being a mom working out from home and taking full control over my life and my happiness. I started setting goals for myself and use my commitment and perseveres to crush them! So I decided to take on another challenge and start Focus T25. As I was getting into this exciting program, I found out we are
expecting our 3rd baby, so I modified as much as possible and then moved on to some less intense programs like PiYo, 21 Day Fix, Active Maternity fitness. Because I already had established a great, strong, deep foundation of healthy habits, and a beloved daily routine, I continued to workout through my entire 3rd pregnancy. I continued to drink Shakeology daily and I still have 5 more meals during after that. It was the healthiest pregnancy I’ve every had. I felt vibrant and full of energy, I never needed a nap, I played with my kids all the time and I didn’t have any pains or aches. For the first time I experiencing what people meant when they said “enjoy being pregnant” and I really did.
When Alex arrived, I seriously believed in my heart that I can get back in shape weeks after he was born so I set on to working on that. But what I hadn’t accounted for was how little time I will have with an infant and 2 toddlers. I kept pushing hard but baby always came first. Without realizing, I started feeling frustrated and defeated again. It felt like even though I’ve got the tools and I know how to use them, I simply couldn’t make it happen. With the support of my online accountability and support group, I gave myself time and continued to work hard. I went back to doing the 21 Day Fix. It’s truly the program that puts me back in shape, gives me life and energy, brings my enthusiasm for exercise again, and it helped me shed the weight! I lost 20 lbs after my second pregnancy for the combine total of 40 lbs lost with at home workouts and nutrition.
In the process of all of this fun craziness, I was unbelievable inspired to become a coach and help others remove the excuses and struggles and get to their dreams too. I love the programs and I love the results they provide, so I wanted to share with others that hard work, commitment and perseveres pay off at the end. I want all mommies to know that they can to feel amazing and live a thriving lives too!
Since my 3rd pregnancy, I’ve completed Insanity Max 30, which was an extremely challenging and so invigorating program. Shaun T is a true motivation leader and trainer and he moved me every single day!
I’ve also complex the 21 Day Fix Extreme and am currently working on Hammer and Chisel!
