With 4 super little babies, going away just hubby and I doesn’t even cross my mind! We do a lot of short trips around the area with the kids, but almost never just the two of us! So this amazing weekend get away felt like winning the lottery!
We were invited to Freddy’s high school friends wedding in South FL and Freddy and I decided to use the opportunity to go to sunny FL and make it a weekend get away! It’s been a long time since we did something just the two of us and it felt like the perfect plan! We made arrangements for the kids – the two little ones stay home with our amazing nanny and the two older ones had the time of their lives with their cousins, aunt and uncle (they loved every minute of it!)
So we find ourselves at this perfect place, just the two of us and no worry in the world!
We walked on the beach holding hands and talking about everything and nothing and it felt like the time when it was just the two of us … and we were in love … planning our lives together! The beach inspires such happy feelings of balance and harmony! The palm trees made it such a treat! It’s like being in paradise with the palm trees and the sun shining!
We ate incredible food, laid by the pool and soaked up the sun and the amazing ambianceĀ of being away from the daily chores and worries! We just enjoyed US. It brought back memories of the time when hubby made it all about me … it was really good to feel so special again!
It felt so amazing to dress up again and visit with friends and just celebrate life!
A wonderful friend told us a while ago that to preserve a great marriage especially when there are little kids, the couple should try to get away at least ones every year. And I fully agree. Reconnecting with my husband brought back the appreciation and gratitude I have for him and having him in my life and I want to keep that alive and at the forefront. Life with 4 little kids can be so overwhelming, time is never enough and our relationship is always put last. But this short get away re-awakened us to the fact that the strength and love of our relationship will be reflected on our kids lives! And that makes everything so worth it!
