Tired of Wanting to Change but Not Knowing How To Stick to It?
I kept starting a fitness and clean eating journey MANY times in my life just to fail at it over and over again because I simply wasn’t capable of sticking with it. There were always more important things coming up! It was either work, or kids, or significant others, ….. my sleep is more important, …… not this week I have important projects going, …. my paper is due, ……. I have a party coming and I know I will drink and eat a lot! Can you relate? That was totally me every single day of my life!
And I waited until I was feeling at the lowest point of my life emotionally, physically and mentally to REALIZE that I am sick of feeling like that and that I need to change! So here are 5 things I did to create a routine and CHANGE MY LIFE tenfold!!! REALLY change my life, not just saying that I will, but ACTUALLY making the change STICK for YEARS NOW.
- I WROTE DOWN my goals to work out and eat better every single day! First thing in the morning, I put pan to paper and wrote down that I am going to work out and eat healthier today and WHY I am doing that.
- I SCHEDULED my workout into my DAY, and I did it without excuses, without exceptions, I simply pushed play on my DVD player and I did it! I also scheduled my meals, I planned my food, I prepped over the weekend, and I made sure I make it simple and easy for myself. I follow an excel spreadsheet to make it easy to track my plan! Scheduling took me time and effort, so every time I did it, I was more and more invested in following through with it because I already put so much time and energy into creating the plan!
- MEASURE MY EFFORTS at the end of every day! I had my workout calendar taped on my wall in my bedroom where I worked out every day and every night, I would cross the day off, check off the scheduled workout, and check off my meal plan for the day. I also used my meal planning app on my phone to keep track of my meals so at the end every day, I went back to the app to assess my day of meals and take notes on what I needed to change the next day so that I can be better at sticking with my meals.
- I SHARED MY GOALS WITH PEOPLE! I joined an online fitness and accountability group and I shared with everyone in the group what my goals were and why I was looking to change my routine, my body, my life! They kept me accountable to my goals and they kept encouraging me every day! I also told my entire family that I am going to be changing how I cook and how I eat and that I WILL take 30 min of every day to myself to workout and feel better, and no matter what, that time will be DEVOTED to me.
- I CONNECTED WITH MY COACH! When I purchased my Hip Hop Abs program via an infomercial on TV, I was provided FREE health and fitness COACH that contacted me and the best thing I ever did was to CONNECT with her! She led me on this path of motivation, encouragement, advice and support. She was there for me EVERY SINGLE DAY without exception! She truly helped me change my life and now we are wonderful friends! I am forever thankful to my coach for letting me see that I CAN change my life! This is WHY I become a coach and pay it forward every single day because I know that life can be better and that everyone deserves to thrive!
You deserve to LIVE an AMAZING life. But every time you start a fitness routine and you can’t stick to it, you can’t blame your past, you can’t blame your circumstances, you can’t blame outside forces. IT IS ALL UP TO YOU! You need focus, will and discipline to reach your goals and you have to find a way to motivate yourself to do it.
Once you start sticking with your goals and routine, you will start gaining momentum, you will start seeing results, and you will feel like you are actually a MASTER of your faith, and YOUR LIFE! You will realize that you are in the driving seat and your life depends on you! Your results will inspire you to push the envelope and set even bigger goals and you will not even feel fear because you will know that YOU CAN DO IT!
Change is the only constant in life and the more you embrace it, the more fulfilling life you will live. The more SATISFIED you will feel with the way you contribute to your family and your community. The more BALANCE you will experience in everything you do!
